Which Shooting?
The other day a mass shooting occurred in Nashville. Three nine-year-old babies and three sixty-year-old teachers died of gunshots wounds, inflicted upon them by a deranged lunatic. That this tragedy took place was really, very sad.
I wonder why there was no message from Matthew MacHoaugnahey lamenting gun violence, this time.
Why does this writer care?
As a former resident of Nashville, this shooting hurt my feelings a lot. I read that most people have basic instincts to protect children. When I heard about the shooting, it made me sick to think of precious children trying to learn in kindergartens across the USA, traumatized.
My experience
An angsty teenager who identified with hardcore music, I was bullied. I wore a spikey leather jacket, sang punk songs in the hallway, and pursued a failed dream of punk rock stardom. I would have probably gotten laid more if I had tried being happy, in stead. The point is, I identify with being out of high school and still angry, but this shooting shit has got to STOP.
What am I doing to stop mass shootings?
Gun control is out of control. I have a page that should be out later this month on Facebook, a forum for sparking changes in gov’t that will end mass shootings, called MSAR Mass Shooting Awareness & Resistance. My goal is to make it a project, do fundraising and have events
