How To Be Good At Teamwork

Richard Harrison Memphis writes…

the keys to being a happy teammate

1. Prioritize teams’ goals over your individual goals

For example, one can be flexible about the time at which one meets with the team.

2. Build trust within the team

Communicate. Communicate. Communicate. Also, do not do any sneaky behaviors.

3. Be reliable and deliver status updates

Make promises that you can keep. Complete every engagement that you say you are going to for the team.

4. Avoid Toxic Sympathy

Avoid gossip. If you keep your attitude good and continue finding positive things to say about your group, then you are going to enjoy it and fare better.

5. Respect your teammates

If someone shares a secret with you, keep it for them, rather than violating their trust. When there is conflict on the team, seperate the person from the conflict.

6. Do not leave work til the last minute

Think ahead to when you and the group are together, combining the bits that you have done independently. Be proactive.

7. Be self-aware

Pay attention to your own emotions. Take time for self care.

How & When to Break Up

Breaking up is really very easy once you get the right mindset.

  1. Always put yourself first.
  2. Don’t care what the other person thinks about you or feels about you.
  3. Don’t catch feelings after you have broken up.
  4. When it is time to break up, break up.
  5. When you detect some red flags and they argue with you, break up.
  6. If your soon-to-be-ex is acting mean, not kind and not friendly, just say I think we should break up.
  7. If they act emotional at first, know that they will get over it.
  8. Be sure to look at for their feelings and try not to let it hurt them too much, in no way be angry at them or blame them for anything.
  9. Love yourself.
  10. Love the empty spaces in time that you will have, when you no longer receive phone calls, texts, inboxes, comments from your soon-to-be-ex
  11. Get out there in the world and find someone new.

Breaking up is just a matter of believing in what you are feeling. Forget what you believed when you first met the person, that you would be together forever. Once you have realized the relationship is less than perfect, that is when you should do it.

Do not make your feelings drag behind you, unattended. Pause and talk to the person about what is bothering you that they have made you feel.

When you do this, do not let them interrupt or confuse you. Write down whatever it is that bothers you that they have made you feel.

Find a way to express it.

You deserve better. You deserve to be treated better than you are by the people who say they love you.

Be wary of any lover who wants to be your lover. Some lovers can be dangerous. Such lovers could hurt your feelings after you break up. If you have to persist through a lover’s resistance to your charms, that can be an indicator that this is a better lover than one who just gives it up to you no questions asked, no refusals.

If they get mad that you are bothering them, by all means stop. But if there is a slight note of desire mingled with the rejection, come back later.

If the lover stops answering questions and does not express things well verbally or in written language, then by all means move on.

If the lover does not like the same music as you, then by all means move on.

If the lover detests things about you that you are proud of, then move on.

How to Dispose of Clothing You No Longer Wear

Nice Owl Merchandise, size L, uncomfortable to wear at current fat, unhealthy also

I have about 30 clothing items in my possession that I longer wear and have decided to get rid of. Some of these items were expensive to buy.

Thinning my clothing collection leads me to conclude that buying clothing is a waste. Commemorative though T-shirts can be, you can remember without buying a T-shirt.

Sweaters, shorts, coats are things to get rid of after a while. Wearing the same coat or pair of shorts for decades can be a poor choice.

Here are five ways to get rid of clothing that no longer fits you.

  1. Give to Goodwill. This is what most people do. Someone said Goodwill is unethical, because it resells in Africa, destabilizing their economy. I no longer donate there. Clothing dumped in deserts of South America is sad.

2. Find a church that has a clothing service for homeless. It could be fun for a less fortunate person to be seen wearing a stylish outfit.

3. Offer friends your old clothes. Post to Instagram clothing for sale.

4. Post the clothing to your Etsy account. Value your clothes. Price your clothing generously.

5. Throw them in the garbage. If they were a giveaway, throw them away.

Other options

You can also lose weight. You can wear the old clothes. You will have a rosebud.

Conclusion

Buy Givenchy and Yves St. Laurent. If you can get a Russian designer brand, get one. Dress to impress and you will. Dress like a musician, and receive less. Wear color. Wear all black. Wear khaki. Wear hot climate style. Wear suits. Wear clothes women find attractive. Wear Bolivianos Identitades costumes? J/k

Black Jorts and an oldie but goodie brown and purple plaid shirt

Shirt that is one size too small, would not like to part with it, will probably hold onto it\

5 Simple Tricks to Create Happiness

Introduction

Do you ever feel bad about yourself? Does it keep you from being all the things you want to be? If this is the case, try these 5 steps to make life a better place for you.

Your Action Plan for Happiness

  1. Have a daily routine.

2. Get outside and enjoy nature.

3. Create an appearance you are proud of. Smile at people and look them in the eye. Wear cologne. Wear fine clothing. Wear clothing that fits your body, roomily.

4. Organize your space when you have down time. Do the dishes. Get your laundry done. Do not leave the dirty laundry to pile up. Having a clean space relieves stress. It opens up a space for you to think. You feel impressed by how lovely your home is.

5. Remind yourself of your accomplishments. These are positive affirmations. Say things like, “I am a good writer,” “I made such a smart decision about this couch I bought because now I love it,” etc.

6. Bonus trick! Believe you are happy. Letting yourself believe you are sad becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If someone asks how you are, say great. Find great things about your life and make those the reasons you feel great, to reinforce your belief that you are great and happy.

Conclusion

Live your routine well and people will take notice. When you are out and about, smile and enjoy the world. Look your best and people respect you for it. Keep home neat and there will be good things that follow.

You will feel proud of your new life. People will believe in you, and it will help you believe in yourself.

Follow the 6 steps above to find happiness.

How To Guide Reviews of Wines

How to Select a Good Wine at Your Wine Shop

As I am a Sales Associate at a large liquor store chain, I have had the experience of seeking out good wines. It is a hit or miss affair, choosing wine. Sometimes wines can have bad structure and turn to vinegar over night. Sometimes the flavors are just banal. Other times you find a good wine.

“I do not know what I am looking for,” say many customers. When I ask how much do you want to spend, they say “it can cost any amount” or “it does not matter.”

In my honest opinion, this is not a good strategy for selecting a good wine at your local wine shop. People have high expectations of high cost wines. When the wines are anything less than remarkable, it is not a good wine.

  • Choose Californian/Oregonian/Washingtonian pinots or chardonnays before you go paying for the high dollar French Burgundies. West coast American wines have brighter, stronger flavors than French wines. They are also more affordable, not only because the idolatry of brand names is less of a cost-increasing factor, but also because Americans who buy American wines skip paying import taxes included in the overall price.
  • This is the best advice that I have for you as far as how to select a good wine at your local wine shop. Listen to your wine shop’s Sales Associate and buy the wines that they suggest.
  • Do not obstinately seek an unavailable wine, leaving the store without any good wine. When it is unavailable, just buy another good wine.
  • Flexibility in the process of selecting a good wine is key to creating new discoveries. A new discovery fills your heart with joy.
  • Buy a lot of wines from the wine shop. That way you can sample many at the same time. That way you will be able to like or dislike according to your own palette.
  • Consider choosing either pinot noir or chardonnay, as those are the only varietals grown in Burgundy, the most expensive and most highly-coveted wine region in the world.
  • Experiment by dividing the wine into quantities. Put some in your decanter. Put some in the refrigerator. Drink some right out of the bottle. Drink some after it has decanted. Let some stay over night and see whether it is vinegar. If it is vinegar, then it has poor structure. Grenache has poor structure. It turns to vinegar. So do the wines of Beaujolais.
  • Try the famous wines. Some famous Cabernet Sauvignons are Stag’s Leap (with that placement of the apostrophe) and Caymus.
  • Catena is a famous brand for Malbecs. For pinot noir, try Rochioli. For rose, try Whispering Angel. For Bordeaux, try Haut -Brion. For port, try Taylor. For champagne, try Veuve Cliquot. For Pinot Grigio, try Santa Margherita. For Sauvignon Blanc, try Kim Crawford. These are very successful brands for a good reason. Sometimes they are even more affordable. The wines are doing so well that the prices can go low, the producers profit enough to make the wines marketable by price.
  • Do not fall into the trap that expensive=good. You can get some good wine for cheap. You can get some bland wine for expensive.
  • Have some good wines that you keep in your bar for years. Let them age. Open them at the right moment in time.

If you find yourself near a wineshop, go in and buy some wines. Any wine will do. Drink wine just to know the flavors. That way you will try a lot of wines. Then, you will know how varied the tastes can be. You may discover something you really love. And your brain will release happy chemicals.

How to Read

In the 21st century, books are obsolete. Some might say that books are home-bettering essentials. Let’s face it. Reading a book requires more work than required.

To read a book, gravity is involved. Keeping the book open means sitting up. Or, it means lying down and holding the book up, so that the pages do not fall closed. Plus, one needs lighting. If it is too dark, reading in the dim light hurts eyes.

All those difficulties are out of the equation, when you read ebooks, which have ushered in an era of binge reading. Reading a tome via eBook is as easy to do as spending endless hours reading posts on Facebook or deathscrolling memes on Instagram. Ebooks have a light built into the screen, so you can read in the dark. No problem.

Ebooks are free. Just get a VPN, go on libgen.rs, and type in what you want. You are bound to find the book is available for free download.

Besides, audiobooks give reading new depth. Enjoy the warmth of someone’s voice, a skilled elocutionist. Soundscapes transport readers into the text setting. Best of all, listening is passive, and does not require the level of preoccupation that reading does.

I really do not understand the fetishism of buying first editions and vintage covers. That is such a waste of money. For the way books lose approximately ninety-nine percent of their value after purchase, it does not make sense to buy hard copies.

The library often has available whatever book you want. Some might say, I need more time to read books. The library will not give me enough time to finish. I say, the late fees there do not matter much. It is one of the few institutions that charge very little. The library and the post office serve the people at affordable prices.

Online libraries make the process of getting information easy as eating good food. No more does one have to go somewhere. From the privacy of home, one can log on and find any book. It only takes a couple clicks. No need to waste time, gasoline, physical effort, a librarian’s help, or money, which gets spent at bookstores.

To book luddites, enjoy the fruits of technology, as all the ideas that books sought to elevate society with were not for naught.
